The Bovet brand has a profound historical background and a unique and close connection with Chinese culture. Bovet was founded by Swiss watchmaker Edouard Bovet in 1822. He was born into a family of watchmakers and was dispatched by the company to Guangdong, China in 1818 as a clock repair technician. He then started his own business, specializing in creating high-end timepieces for the Chinese market.
Bovet initially targeted Qing Dynasty aristocrats as its target customers, designing pocket watches that were in line with Chinese aesthetics, such as using enamel painting, pearl inlay, hollow movements, and incorporating Eastern elements such as Chinese landscapes and ladies' paintings. It even customized watches for the royal family.
In 2001, after the revival of the Bovet brand, early designs deeply integrated Eastern elements such as the twelve hours and zodiac totems. In recent years, the "Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches" series has continued this tradition.
40 gauge diameter, made of stainless steel material. Due to the design of the head and timing button at the twelve o'clock position, it does not feel uncomfortable or appear too large when touched.
